Feb. 7 - Bristol Bay Road Show, Santa Fe

The award-winning film “Red Gold” will be shown in Santa Fe as part of the Bristol Bay Road Show. The film depicts the threat to Bristol Bay fishing posed by the proposed Pebble Mine. Learn more about fishing in Alaska, taste Bristol Bay salmon samples prepared by local chefs, have a chance to win prizes and learn more about the fight to save Bristol Bay. Salmon tasting at 5:30, p.m., film at 6, at the Santa Fe Farmers Market. Tickets are $25. Click here for tickets and information.

Feb. 9 - Bristol Bay Road Show, Albuquerque

Feb. 23 - State Game Commission, Hobbs

The State Game Commission will hold its first meeting of 2012 on Thursday, Feb. 23, in Hobbs. On the agenda are an update on possible changes in the Habitat Stamp program and a discussion of a potential new apprentice hunter program. Click here to see the full agenda. The meeting begins at 9 a.m. at the Hobbs City Hall Annex, 200 East Broadway.

March 28 - Big Game Draw application deadline

Today is the deadline to apply for Big Game Draw hunts for public land deer, elk, antelope, ibex, Barbary sheep, bighorn sheep and javelina licenses, plus population management hunts and private land deer hunts in 2A, 2B, 2C, 4 and 5A. Applications are online only. Results will be announced May 9.
